Elephants

In my dream last night, I was in a two-storeyed house in a village. The village was frequented by three elephants, one much taller and gigantic than the other two and looked as if it is looming over the entire landscape. Many in the village were a bit afraid of the elephants but some were too friendly with them.

As I was walking along a corridor, some villagers there alerted everyone about the presence of the elephants. It was dusk. As I looked into the dark, beyond the corridor, I saw two large figures gently moving. The front half of their bodies were hid behind the foliages. They seemed quiet as they stood there grazing the leaves. Behind them it was completely dark and on looking carefully I was able to trace the outline of a larger elephant whose physique appeared looming over the other two.

 I was filled with fear and listened to how the locals evaded the elephants whenever they spotted them nearby. One said that she would leave bundles of grass on one side of her house and garden so that the elephants eat them and go that way. She said she thus remained free from fear of sudden invasion of her crops on the other side. 

I was taken to another scene in which I saw a small girl playing with the elephants, offering them food. The large elephant was particularly very friendly towards her and her family members. As I was watching, I could see that one among the two smaller ones was indifferent towards the girl. I was able to sense that it harboured some hidden hostility against the girl. The girl didn't seem to notice it and continued being comfortable around them. But I could sense something terrible coming.

Throughout the rest of the dream, I saw the angry elephant trying to harm the girl but failing each time. I didn't see how the girl was protected in all the attempts against her. But I could understand that the girls, her family and even the other elephants were oblivious of the hatred of this elephant. I saw her grow from a small girl to a young girl and also being married. Whenever she passed on from one stage to another, there was a big attempt on her life by the elephant but she miraculously survived. 

The married girl had come to visit her parents and the elephants had come to see her. The angry one gently persuaded her to get on to its back so that it could take her around. As she climbed, I saw that she was fully pregnant. I could understand that it was trying to harm her but she was unaware of it. My little one started crying and before I could open my eyes to take care of her, I quickly foresaw that the girl continued to live. As I woke up from my dream, I was confused as to why I had such a long, vivid dream but was reassured as the girl was unhurt. I wondered why I was hastily given a quick view of the girl's future and was shown that she was safe and secure.
